While Egypt and Lebanon are sparing no effort to make their representatives win the prize, the Moroccan local channels refused to spotlight the event in their broadcasts.

To justify this carelessness over the brilliant Moroccan participation, which is embodied by the sublime voice of Hanaa El Idrissi, an official from the two channels said that “it will be a publicity of a rival channel (LBC).”

The Moroccan starlet's success relies on the vote through SMS services or phone calls, thus the role of the two local mobile operators cannot be ignored.

Unfortunately, “Meditel” and “Maroc Telecom” do not reckon non French-speaking contests and cannot provide the least support for the Moroccan artist, who wishes to raise the Moroccan flag in Lebanon.

Apart from some articles published by the local papers and some websites created by Hanaa fans, her participation has passed unseen and unnoticed in the Moroccan media.

While in Egypt, the pharaohs are already claiming victory!

Everybody unceasingly talks about Hani Hussein as the 2nd Egyptian to win the Star Academy award.

Their obsession went beyond reason that all the Egyptian satellite channels call viewers in their short messaging board to massively vote for Hani.

During the Star Academy 1, Egypt made everything possible to enable Mohammed Attiyeh win the first price. The Egyptian mobile operators allowed their nationals to freely vote for Attiyeh.

The same enthusiasm is animating the organising country, Lebanon. The Lebanese see in the person of Joseph Attiyeh an imminent star, who must not leave the academy without winning his country the prize.

Angered over the hurting “remarks”, appearing on the message boards in most of the Arab satellite channels, Hanaa's fans are calling on Moroccans, through a number of forums created for this purpose, to sustain the ambitious singer. Would that work? Would that be enough? Would the Moroccan patriotism intervene at the last minute and make the national flag glow like a star in the Lebanese sky?

Friday will disclose the results. And no matter what the poll discloses, Hanaa is a winner anyway.
